Some of these syndromes include low back pain (LBP); fibromyalgia; and such neuropathic conditions as postherpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and oncology-related syndromes (e.g., postmastectomy pain). Effective treatment of chronic pain requires a multimodal approach that includes pain medication, adjunct medications, and other forms of therapy (e.g., exercise and relaxation).
